Tractors Playing Away
14th September 2002
When the pressures of the game get too much for todays young talented
players, it is crucial given the number of games that all are expected to
play in, that a relaxing break is taken to refresh those natural reflexes
and hone the dribbling skills. This summer was no exception when the
Gaffer got onto his sponsors and booked a training camp in Menorca for
himself and one or two others. Joining him on this spoting extravaganza were club
captain Fred Auld and star signing Ed Suckling.
Washed down with plenty of sangria and sun lotion the Gaffer is please to
report on a great week of TFC playing abroad with all the gusto that one would expect
from young youths of todays primary members club. Of course however it wasn't all work work work and so the team
were only too happy to take in some of the local sites. On our travels
all the players were amazed by the depth of support that TFC had on the sleepy island
of Menorca. Two occasions spring to mind. The first (see below) shows the moment when Fred and Ed attempted to
sign up a 'work horse' of a player for one of their special training sessions..., whilst
in the other the latter player can be seen gaining confidence by practicing his scoring
technique against the weak defences of the lovely 17 year old lesbian, Elisa.
Fred, a mecurial player capable of defying levels of acceptability
Of course our presence on the island did not go unnoticed and thus we were able to befriend none other than Liverpool legend and TFC fan John Barnes. John
loved meeting the team and even commented with delight on Fred's actions
saying - 'just watching him play gets to your thirst, fast!'. In fact
John was so impressed with the teams playing that he penned the team a
post card which you ca see below...
It says: To the 'Tractor Boys' (not Ipswich) Good Luck for next season, John Barnes
