Tractor FC [7] v's Bowen FC [4], 22nd March, 2004.
Bruising Bowen FC push Tractors to dig deep, by Gaffer TFC

After a loss that resembled a rugby score in their earlier fixture Bowen FC were determined to come back to Plough Lane and get their revenge. The fixture was set and in the weeks leading up to the game the media scrum highlighted a tense atmosphere in their squad. Heads were on the block, losing 15 nill to TFC last time was simply not good enough, squad rotation was not enough and instead squad anilhilation was in.

realy...,
Bobby, told reporters that he had
"too much work to do on the night..."

In perhaps what will go down as the last competitive match of the season Tractor FC can clearly be said to have learnt well from a season of experience gained. Of late it has not been characteristic of this squad, perhaps only second in size to that of Chelsea, to go a goal down right from the start. Dave K was up to the challenge when Tim lost control in the centre and the frizzy haired young striker was at the top of his game to strike home the first goal of the game.

With the TFC crowd unusually quiet in the stands it came to the clubs latest signing Rob Shiels to take on the charge single handed. For anyone this is a tricky task, but especially for one who had ony moments earlier clashed heads and become disorientated. As luck would have it his delightful stumble and back pass rocketed into the opposition goal and the game was back on.

you humm,
Man of the match hatrick scoring Rob Shields,
Up for it before the game and one day later

Chances went begging for the Tractors who playing well under par wasted posession and foolishly gave away the ball in dangerous situations. None were more guilty than the Gaffer who presented the opposition a gift of the goal after he was carlessly caught with his ball out of control in the box.

At 4-2 down TFC were up against it but a great goal from Robbo from distance, Adam from the right and the completion of wounded Rob's hatrick gradually eased the pressure on the team. At the other end Dave K was unlucky to hit the post and Rob Bowen guilty of missing a great late chance when 1 on 1 with the keeper.

A close game is a great way to end the seaon, see you all next year!
