Tractor FC [1] v's Vipers FC [2], 4th November, 2002.

After a memorable victory a fortnight ago Plough Lane was once again the scene of another thrilling encounter against the Vipers. However, it was not plain sailing. With just days to go the Gaffer found Saddam unable to play, or any of his doubles, Hawky was abroad answering some searching vice squad questions whilst in barely believable scenes recently reported by ground staff, Fred was said to have been seen emerging from the showers, winklepickers in hand, giving himself an ASDA moment with a pocket full of sponsors cash in the back pocket, and walking from the ground. It remains to be seen if the talented player has played his last game for the team but whether he is running with the cash, or paying off some hefty bribes, serious questions need to be asked about the mans commitment to being a regualar successful player.

Once to starting gun had rung, the match began in the usual way with the Tractors finding it hard to get settled. The new crew took some time to organise itself but with Bournie marshalling the wing with probing runs and big Tim booming orders in defence the team finally began to take some shape and after 15 mins were rewarded with their first touch of the game. In spirited fashion, after going one goal down, the tractor machine gradually began to purr against a discipined and skillful Vipers side. Despite late pressure however TFC found themselves unable to overcome a well disciplined defence with the gaffer comming closest having missed from infront of goal in the dying minutes. One all for the season with one game in hand, and a few bruises and sharp words to show for it.

For the Tractors: Charlie, Robbo, Gaffer[1], Tim, Bournie, Garry
