Tractor FC [8] v's Bourne Again VII [6], 2nd December, 2002.
TFC win ugly against a virgin Bourne Again side.

TFC continued their impressive run of wins with a comfortable win over a Nick Bourne invitation team. The Tractors ran out 8-6 winners but it wasn't pretty. A rather low attendance, coupled with only one pair of creepers gracing the pitch, meant the game was played in a rather flat atmosphere.

The press had done their best to hype the game up, trying to ignite a war of words between the two skippers, and spreading vicious rumors regarding the Gaffer's absence. Again, they claimed it was due to a personal problem with old pimp features Auld after more snaps appeared in the News of the World of the club captain treating Mrs Blossom Gaffer to a cheeky Ponting or two. Claims which were successfully smoothed over by Auld at the pre-match press conference: "I strictly deny having fondled, stroked, patted or groped Mrs. Gaffer's rump in any way, shape or form. There is no problem between myself and PNB, his absence from tonight's game is solely due to a prior engagement with potential sponsors Tommytank."

In a stuttering display from TFC, the highlights were a few well-worked moves orchestrated by the engine team of Sparrow and Ward, another immaculate display from Adam on the right flank, and a first for Auld: a headed goal. The only concern for the TFC management was the off-colour display from crowd-favourite Suckie. The big man's mind seemed to be elsewhere, most probably on his latest conquest - enough to put any man off his game!

For the Bournie's, the skipper himself produced a moment of inspiration when he 'did a Beckham' and lobbed semen from the half way line but apart from that, his side just didn't have enough hunger and patience to overcome a stubborn TFC line-up.

A solid display, but by no means a classic.

TFC: Fred (1), Tony (2), Sparrow (1), Hawk (2), Adam, Max (2), Suckie
