Tractor FC [13] v's Bowen FC [4], 1st November, 2004.
Champagne soccer

Benefiting from a strong squad and good conditions TFC were fortunate to easily overcome their opposition on Monday night. The second 7-a-side game of the year may well have been mistaken for the last as a vibrant TFC strung passes together and produced champagne football as shot after shot popped and fizzzed into the Bowen FC net.

Having lost to Bowen FC earlier in the year payback was always on the menu though this dish looked distinctly suspect as Bowen FC threw out the form sheet and went one up after poor defending and timing on the behalf of TFC. Indeed Adam, who was still getting dressed infront of goal at the time, may well have done better had not his TFC shirt been wrapped round his head at the time. Playing with 6 men TFC were able to hold on long enough to keep in contention and when Charlie Sparrow arrived some semblance of structure evolved.

Gunners
The Gaffer had some unique motivation techniques

With good switching in the middle Rob Shields, who is fast becoming a club hero, sprayed the ball around the field with the confidence and drive of a muck spreader and no one would sniff at the suggestion that TFC has grown in stature under his influence. Aiding him Charlie Sparrow flew down the wing and set up some supurb goals whilst Ewan frequently attacked in style. In the centre Wilko, who played no small part in these numerous attacks, was a constant threat in front of the posts. Robbo goal-hung very well and took his chances if only then to blot his record by allowing a ball to roll pass him and into his own net.

Bemused fans may well have wondered what side some of the players were on as Adam persistantly missed from close range whilst Bobby deflected all other shots into his own net. All in all a very pleasing performance from TFC not only because they came from behind but also because they seemed able to hit back fast after every goal that was scored against them.

For TFC:Gaffer, Fletch, Robbo, Rob, Wilko, Sparra, Adam
